I'd like to correct some errors in that thread.

The SR20DET is not "oversquare" - it is 86mm x 86mm - square.
The CA18DET, on the other hand, is 83mm x 83.5mm - "oversquare" by that article but "undersquare" in typical American terms.  The stroke is still physically shorter, though, and the SR does suffer from a relatively poor rod:stroke ratio.  It's not a truck engine by any means, though, even less so than the KA.

All CA-series engines use timing belts... including the CA20E and CA18ET.  They're not the same belt, though.  A better source of CA18DET compatible pieces in the USA is the Pulsar NX SE's CA18DE or CA16DE.  CA18DE timing belts should fit among other things.
