I did the same thing and dropped in a K&N filter. Honestly, I think this is probably as good as buying an actual intake because the stock platic pipe isn't all that resrtictive. The only other difference is flat vs. cone, and our flat filters are pretty big, and I think some studies have shown that the cone doesn't actually flow that much more in our type of application.
