Mmm... The first impression you gave was that of a nub. All the time people come on asking the exact same thing you ask. It becomes redundant. So think of it this way, if you have a question chances are it's already been asked. As for the anwser to your questions...
#1- Chances are it's been abused as how every one and their mother wants a 240. So check for bondoed body pannels and look around the whole car for the yellow mark indicating that the part is more than likely replaced from that of a junkyard. The point were the fender and body line up under the door is most likely bent/crushed due to people jacking the car up the wrong way. If it has the stock foam spoiler then check for rust under the hatch. 89-90 are sohc's 91+ are dohc's. 89-90 had the zenki pignose front. 91-93 had the chucki. There are tons other but I don't want to post on every single one. All in all 240's are pos' but we still love um.
#2- That's all up to you on looks. It's a lil easier to get parts for the s13 types such as at a junkyard. IMO s15 looks best on a hatchback. Just to let you know, a s15 front requires conversion fenders and some sawzall to the body for the headlights and everything to fit.
#3-Everyone has their fav. spot for a motor, but best place to check is Venus auto in sac-town. Also for a place that is more local try Japan Parts in South SanFrancisco.
#4- I can't think of any spots to do an install, Total mind blank right now. But now a days sr swaps are pretty common just make sure you have all the parts or a clip for everything you need.
#5- The reason I said to lock the thread was because it was pointless as how many other people have posted the exact same thing.
Now if you have any questions regarding 240's holla at me in pm, and I'll be glad to anwser.
