I would suspect that KA is probably on its last legs. $500 is a good deal either way, but $500 for a good condition 240 KA and not so good SR20DE seems a little to good to be true.
As for turboing the SR20DE; it's a good motor to turbo, like I said in my last post I'd just lower the compression, (your rebuilding it anyway) put in a metal head gasket, and slap on a turbo. The DE is really the same motor as the DET, just no turbo, hence the higher compression. Lower the compression to the stock 8.5:1 on the DET, add a turbo kit and you got yourself an SR20DET.
The wiring is probably the biggest pain. I know you can modify the harness from a KA24DE to run the SR20DET and still use the coil on plug system (all you need from the SR harness is that wiring), and you need the SR ECU. But since the SR20DE uses a distributor, like the KA, I would think it would work to do the same with the KA24DE harness to make it run the non-turbo SR.
