To get it to fit I had to remove the shifter, plate, and those side springs to rotate the stick, since it somehow got rotated the wrong way. However, even after doing this, the car won't go into gears 1-3 or R. It just sits halfway there, and comes right back out with the slightest tap.

Now with the stock shifter in, the transmission goes into all gears with no issue. However, I lost some part in the shifter that actually holds the shifter into the transmission and prevents it from just being pulled up and out of the linkage, so that's not an option.

Now the only thing I'm unsure on with the installation of the B&M is those four allen bolts that hold that black retaining plate onto the top of the shifter plate. My thought was that if I tightened those down all the way I'd do away with the "B&M Rattle." However, upon retrospect, is there some amount of slack I'm supposed to leave in between the black plate and the regular plate? That was the only thing I considered that might be an issue in keeping the shifter from fully going into 1st, but I have no idea just how much clearance to leave between the plates, if any.

Can anyone help me out here?
try giving the guys at B&M a call to see if it works for the ca18.
