downtown suffers from incurable blight. sure the financial district is alright, but i dare the average tourist to venture down to 6th and broadway...even though i've seen tours of the historic theaters down there, everybody looked like they were clutching their purses, and constantly patting their pockets to make sure their wallets were where they left them.
