okay first off...the mr2 will handle pretty damn good in the snow, i have a 85 mr2 and a 87 mr2, the 85 was for parts, which i never needed, just sold stuff off of...i put 30,000 hard miles on the 87 and it still runs fine, it has 130,000 on it, i was suprised it lasted that long...and i never thought they looked ugly, i also didnt think that it was tricky to control i had it sideways at 60 around a corner, and got it back i was shitting my pants, but i lived to tell about it, it wasnt pretty or anything, went back and forth 3 or 4 times, but i got it straight, all in all i would say its up to you, i personally love my mr2s, but i just sold the motor out of my 87 so i guess ill just be driving my 97 240 when its done, if you get the car and need any parts let me know, i live in upper michigan, so shipping probably wouldnt be horrible, also a good site for used parts is http://mr2.xcars.com and http://www.mr2.com has alot of useful infomation...hope this helped alittle...
