You can buy a hood pin sensor, that will go off when your hood gets' popped.

Coupled with a 2-way paging system, you should recieve a notice on your reciever telling you that the hood sensor has been tripped, so hopefully you'll have the phone in 1 hand and a gun/bat/blunt object in the other while running out to your car when you see that your car's been tempered with.
