yeah but you are gonna want #1 piston at tdc on the compression stroke if you are concerned with timing. What are you needing to set the motor at top dead center for? that would help everyone tell you how to do it. There is 2 tdc's for piston #1 in one complete combustion cycle. If you are pulling the valve cover off there is a mark on the timing gears. Hopefully this helps
