The E34 model M5 comes in three different flavours:
The 1989 BMW M5 with 315 HP 3.5 litre engine. The only E34 M5 available in the USA.
The 1992 BMW M5 with 340 HP 3.8 litre engine. Never sold in the USA but availalble widely throughout Europe. Became available in Touring version.
1995 BMW M5 with same 340 HP engine, but the 6-speed gearbox and Nurburgring suspension were now fitted as standard. </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
