i dont know which is which but i believe i know how the work vlsd uses two plates with slits or vanes in them and uses a friction modifier in the fluid and when both wheels spin at the same speed fluid cools if they spin at different speeds fluid heats up becoming more viscouse and the slits or vanes act restrictor making both wheels spin (sort of like how an automatic tranni uses a torqe converter) clutch type differantels let the wheeel speed change by over coming friction provided by the cluthes (i believe this is the quiffe)
and catz are ramp type basicly it is a inter locking set of repeating ramps that are held together by srpings and the to spin wheels at differan speed the wheels must over come the ramp angle and pressure of the springs (older diff desigs snd many new types like this make a pop sound as wheels over come the ramps vettes have this type stock (at least my dads does)
if i am wrong in any way some one correct me
