From my experience of going to the drag strip I have seen a couple of WRX's with no visible mods, i.e. no exhaust, one put down a 13.4, the other was a sport wagon WRX and it ran 13.6.
They are pretty quick cars, and I like the awd for on the dirt, ice and snow. My first car was a 4wd Subaru, so I am kind of partial to them.
