Also garages don't work, my friend got his car jacked when it was parked in the garage with the garage door shut and locked.

I agree, it is simple to disable an alarm with little to nothing proper knowlege and some time. If your going to get one, get it with proximity + pager so you have a better chance to detect it before its disabled.
