You don't
have to change it, but in order for it to look OEM and for correct fitment you do. Thats like saying you can put a hatch rear bumper on a coupe. Yes you can do it, it wont fit correctly or you might have to tweak it a bit, but you can. Its all personal preference I suppose, but I like my parts to fit correctly and appear as if they belong.
