The gas gauge/floater is probably rattled around in the tank if you dropped it.

I wouldn't go by that thing.

Get a full tank, reset the odometer.

Drive it until you need to refill again, divide the miles by the gallons you refilled.

I echo this: Coolant temp sensor to ecu I would recommend replacing if you haven't done that already.
