It's funny how some people just blow off ebola. Sure, right now, at this point in time, you almost certainly will not get it. But situations do change.
Today's generation is slightly ignorant to infectious disease, due to all of the medical advancements we get to enjoy. Most people have not heard of the Flu of 1918, but something similar will eventually happen again. This future epidemic will be even deadlier due to today's population density and modern modes of transportation.
Ebola is a virus, which deals mainly with genetic information. With each new generation of virus, it has a high chance to mutate; maybe deadlier or less, maybe more contagious or less.
