Well, I guess for reference on a generic tire height chart I have:

215/40/17 = 23.77"

215/45/17 = 24.62"

215/40/18 =24.77"

215/35/18 = 23.93"

225/35/18 =24.20"

225/40/18 =25.09"

Obviously the heights will be different depending on the tire brand and the width of the wheel you put it on. I have personally always liked the look of a 225/40 on a 9" wheel.

If you want your wheels/tires to be generally the same size of what you have now I guess you want to run a 215/35 and a 225/40 (since that will be stretched a whole lot more then the 215s will be). I would still run 40 series all around though.
