You should be able to use any vacuum solenoid with the same connector shape. I think the part number only varies because of the color code which is supposed to match the connector (since the SCV and EGR VSV are right next to each other, to prevent mixups). But functionally it shouldn't matter.

You can't just tee the line and have it work, you'll end up with the EGR open constantly, those ports aren't connected internally unless the valve is on (open):
