Yeh, I never really liked revving the engine to red line to get the most power. I know it sounds weird, but if red line is 8K, I would the max power to be around 6.5 - 7 K. In my mind, it's less wear and tear on the engine while still getting the most out of it.
Well, you have time, so put in those cams and dyno the car. That way you'll know for sure which combo works the best.
