The radio antenna doesn't have an electric current does it? So having it touch metal won't matter?

It'll just make your entire car the antenna, not even kidding. Just like if you stand next to a portable radio and find a station, then step away and you lose reception - cause you act as a larger antenna.
It shouldn't cause problems, but why not just buy an s2000/Agency Power antenna? Looks decent, works the same
