Yeah Omni base sucks. Sherwin williams/ martin senour probase is good for the money. Even reds cover nicely.

Ive heard Omni DBC or MBP is great, ($800/gallon range)
I used a lighter grey sealer. Which was a horrible idea. It was the only sealer that was in stock. I should have just used black epoxy primer.
Either way, still just piss water. I'm pretty frustrated and repainted the whole thing. Approaching 5 GALLONS of paint at this point. Almost done (thank god).
Helluva learning experience but made 2 major mistakes. This was my first paint job, let alone shooting real paint/2 part clear.
1) light color sealer
2) "economy" line of a rich metallic paint. (still 240$ / gallon)
The finished product so far is great, but 10-12 coats was/is an absolute fucking mess.
Wish I painted the car black ... :/
