Word is they(Nissan) are actually doing that already(beefing the trans up). Oh and to all those that laud the Vette. I have nothing against C6's they are bad ass cars.
Except one thing. Its today's GM a GM while doing things a bit better still is not known for the quality they once were.
In fact I know a lot of shops and mechanics that will tell you,if your going to own a Vette own it the first two years and get rid of it. I.E. Outside of the drivetrain (which is rock solid) they fall apart. This is not something I have heard from just one shop or mechanic either.
FWIW I still believe the GTR overall is a better build quality than anything GM builds today. If your not constantly launching I am sure the transmission holds up fine.
Oh and like someone else said it only seems to be one person who has managed to blow the trans up, if it were a ton of people then it would be an issue.
I honestly think the Anti Nissan camp aka haters and naysayers are just looking for anything they can trumpet as wrong.
