yea well ak is from 1947's and till this day still is the most produced weapon in the world unlike ur m16's from 1970's. that gun was made cheap and effective. not like the m16, ak is easier to strip and clean.
m16 doesn't have many variants. it has m16 (m16a1-m16a4), m4 and thats about it.

So, all your "knowledge" is hearsay.
AK is not easier to field strip and clean. Over 2x as many parts to remove and lose. Getting a blood blister from replacing the cover back on the receiver is always fun.
