while you have the baffles out, I highly recommend having the whole thing ultrasonic cleaned.

I went through a similar thing, I had a p11 valve cover powdercoated and I specifically told the place NOT to sandblast, ONLY to chemical strip. Got it back and there was a ton of sand residue all over the inside. I removed the baffles, cleaned it a ton with my parts washer, then brake-kleen, but there was still fine sand dust in it. Took it to a local ultrasonic cleaner and they got it spotless. It was only like $45-50 and they showed me how much residue came out when cleaning. Quite a bit.
