See, what kills emissions here is fucking visual. My friend's SR passed smog for registration with no fucking cat on. Amazing huh? That was years ago. Now if he even shows up with an SR and a cat on, he's done. A JDM engine can be as clean as can be, but visual will fuck it over. Amazing how something that can work cleaner and more efficient than it's USDM counterpart isn't allowed because of visual inspection.

Because of this, some people just say fuck it, my motor is already illegal, having a cat on isn't gonna save me one bit, so test pipe it is. Now, if Cali allowed any motor as long as it passed the sniffer, I guarantee you, many will abide by smog laws in order to be able to keep their nice swaps and turbo set ups.
