I was actually thinking the same thing, this is what it did...

-pulled the exhaust manifold
-had manifold flange's machined flat
-had turbo elbow flange machined flat
-replaced the main mani gasket (oem 7 layer s15)
-replaced the mani to turbo gasket (oem nissan)
-replaced the turbo to elbow gasket (oem nissan)
-replaced the oil lines (steel braided)
-checked turbo

no leaks
