O/D Indicator Flashing

Went to a friends today and had to park in the grass on a slight hill during the rain. Had a LOT of wheel spin but finally managed to get parked without incident. Stayed a few hours and when I went to leave, as SOON as I started the car, the overdrive on/off indicator light flashed several times. I was slightly distracted and only noticed the last few flashes so I wasn't able to count them. I shut the car off and then turned it on again, nothing.

Any idea what the flashing means? It's never done that before. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-L

(PS: This is a 1997 240SX SE, auto, stock open differential)

It may be storing an error code in the A/T control unit. Pull up the FSM for your year from zeroyon.com and start tracing through the AT section.
