SR Help me with tapping noise! video inside

I started hearing this tapping noise and it's loud enough for me to pay attention to it now. anybody know what it would be? it's coming from the front top of the valve cover, but I don't remember seeing chain guides last time i took the cover off.

so this sound is def different than the VTC Sprocket sound that's common with the s14 SR's i've been reading about? I never got to hear the clip of that sound.

hi, i had this tapping noise on my KA before since i installed the oil cooler for a while, i took to the shop and they told me my engine was running too much oil and will make the oil pump weak. that's why the sound came from. and they took off the cooler for me and the sound gone. it sounds weird but it works.

so i don't know if you had the oil cooler installed or what, hope this can give you an idea.
