KA24DE swap need help

ok i been doing KA24E to DE swap… and i am stuck. The main harness connector won't connect to the DE engine harness.
so i did a little research.. and find out that you have to use the later model DE connector. but where could i find such thing .. i mean i live in a place where no one drive 240SX. none in the junk yard with in 100 mile. and i been searching on e-bay and different forum.. no one has yet to have one for sale.. my question: is there another way. other then cutting my engine connector and connect the wire. because i really don't want to cut the engine harness. or maybe any one who is reading this has one for sale?

If it is the harness from the motor harness to the dash harness, I made a pig tail to go between the two. You can cut the dash harness and splice in the DOHC dash end if you can find one. they are hard to find. I sold all there was to have out of two junkyards. You can try posting on the Want to buy forum.
Sorry I do'nt have one for you!!!

here what i did. I cut the original harness plug that went to the dash on my sohc upper wirring harness. Then i cut my dohc plug, and soldered the wires then taped up the extra wires. It worked fine. or else you can get a whole new dash harness to match up perfect.

see i know that way you can do it.... but i really don't want to cut my engine harness.. i guess there is no other choice then huh.. so i have to cut the main(dash) harness connector that goes to the engine harness AND THE ENGINE HARNESS connector and connector them huh.. soo all the color will match up right...

Yes, Match up the wires on both harnesses. There WILL be extra wires, tape them, you will not need them. Do you have the DOHC tach? The SOHC tach will not work.

I made a pig tail, because I did not want to cut either harness. But cutting is most comon.

Ok, I got the harness end that hooks up to the DOHC end and the end that hooked up to the dash harness on the SOHC and spliced them to gather so I wouldnt have th cut either harness on either end. I'll try to post a photo tuesday, I'll have to pull it out of my car to do it. I havent heard of anyone doing it , not to say it

yea just get the dohc tach, and replace it with the sohc tach. instead of wasting money getting a whole new gauge and cluster.

solder the wires that you are cutting for more comfort. and tape of the ends. i hand tied my wires and eletric taped them, but my dash lights kept flickering. lol
for the record:

either get a dohc dash plug from a junkyard and cut it. Then match up the wires to connect to your SOHC dash, tape up the extra wires, and then just plug up the engine harness plug into the dash plug and done.

OR

cut your engine harness as it does to the dash plug. cut your dohc plug that connects to the dash plug aswell. Put on the dohc plug and match up the wires with the harness. tape off the extra wires. done.

... between that, knowing people and the zilvia.net search feature and FAQ section, my pignose tools around with a twincam and has for about 3 weeks short of a year now, in the great state of NC.
