Odd S13 SR20DET Water Temp Readings

Hello everyone,
So I have my buddy's car for a couple of days. He has electric defi gauges. When I am cruising in any gear, the water temp. reads 40-50 degrees celcius. When I start going a little faster, it goes up to around 70. I know the readings are on their mark, but should I look into anything besides the fluids? It just seems too low for me since the temp on my car stays between 70-90 degrees.

do his fans stay on all the time? I have altima fans wired to stay on constantly on my sr and it wont go above 165f +/- (at night it doesn't go above 155f)a few degress if I'm crusing or running at 25% throttle. However once I'm at WOT it will go up to 180-190 and when I slow down again and cruise it will drop back down

is it alright to run them like that? i have mine running all the time also and have heard that they life of the fans gets shortened by it.

I'm sure it does, weardown the fans quicker, but I'd much rather spend another 60-70 bucks for fans than have my sr overheat.

but see the thing is your not getting any performance gains out of running your motor colder, you also run richer if the motor doesnt get to its optimum temp which is usually around 195+
