Questions on some kill switches?

Ok sorry for the newb questions im new to nissans. Anyways before you say anything about searching. i did search and bookmarked the useful pages, but i still have questions. i have a 97 s14. My first question is for a fuel pump kill switch, what color is the wire you have to cut and what side of the car is it on? Also i would like to know if anyone had any wiring diagrams. Also i wanted to know how reliable the switch was because according to some honda drivers the switches like short out within a year. Also if anyone could really explain relays to me thatd be great. thanks

Well I know quite a lot about electrical but the thing is you obviously know nothing...The wiring principals are all the same just done a little bit diffrently from manufacture to manufacture.

-The reason why the "honda" peple (or people in general, you are just stereotyping) say the switch is not realibable is because there is high(er)current flowing through a switch that is not meant to handle it. So that is where a relay comes to mind.

-Relays....Well first of all it is a low current coil (which is controlled by a circuit, wheather it be a switch or computer) that closes a high current switch. So on a relay it is usually pin 86 and 85 that is the coil, which means power is sent in through 86 goes through the coil and grounds out of 85. This coil closes an internal switch which is beteen 87a and 30, which means power flows through 87a and goes through 30 to the load or ground. These are exaples and may not work like that in every senario.

If you some what understand the above I know of a good place to get the FSM which have wiring diagrams (it is actually in someones signature here, I can't remember the name off the top of my head for some reason). But yeah I could tell you what wire exactly to to wire the relay into, but it's late and I'm drunk so tomorrow will do....

This thread describes the full fuel system electronic control: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=108545

It's also posted in the SR FAQ.
