slight shudder on accel from dead stop
Its fairly minimal.. when I launch a bit higher its not as evident. maybe im just not releasing the clutch properly? this car is fairly new to me.. I did a search and couldn't find any good posts on this.

if my mounts were worn wouldn't I get vibration at all speeds? actually when decelerating below like 20km/h I get a shake behind my steering wheel. Where are the mounts exactly? and if they are worn how hard to change? thanks

it's more evident at idle and slow speeds. Would depend on level of wear.
do a quick search for 'motor mounts', how to replace them has been covered many times and recently. |

Could be, but wouldn't explain the decel part.
I remember the clutch on my first 240 (90 hatch) was significantly stiffer than my last two. Generally rule of thumb is: steering wheel vibration - motor or front suspension stick shift vibration - tranny mount butt (seat) vibration - rear suspension Check the condition of the driveshat - specially the rubber midsection aswell if all else fails. Is you idle steady? If it's not a small vacuum leak, faulty MAF, EGR, TPS all could cause some vibration. Too general so it's easier to start with the bigger things. |

I feel no vibrations in my buttockal area
I feel/see no vibrations at all in my shifter I feel no vibration in the steering wheel but there are vibration sounds(near/on wheel) I Do have a very slight idle problem.. it idles very steady around 900? then randomly drops to 500ish and goes right back up. barley noticable.. based on your criteria its probably my motor mounts? im nit picking here cause my car is near perfect condition now.. but id rather not wait for shit to start breaking. |

vibration sounds??? dunno about that
In that case I would rule out mounts but it could be a myriad of things. Check hoses - specially vacuum ones - for wear and cracks. Replace as necessary. With the aid of a meter and the FSM you could check all the major sensors too. |

the cruise control button housing on my steering wheel vibrates and like i said before theres a vibration when deceling from behind my steering wheel. I sort of feel some road vibes to but the car is lowered on chopped springs so I dont expect it to be a lexus. the only sensor that isnt working is the Air Temp Sensor which threw a code when it *fell* off.. id have to saulder it back on because theres no wire left to splice it back on. Plus it doesn't effect driveability. Ill check motor/tranny mounts first

wait, wait, wait.....
Chopped springs = the fail! And how do you know the ATS sensor doesn't affect driveability? It's a measure of oxygen content to help the ECU determine appropriate fuel mixture. There's your answer. |

Ive driven a lot of cars and I didn't even notice the springs were chopped until I saw them, they handle quite well. any vibration I get is in a specific area not general.
And through many searches and looking at the FSM I determined the ATC is for diagnostics only. Plus the fact that it runs the same without it. I will be putting in back in when I can find the time to saulder. |

Last owner didn't say anything about it. the pedal squeeks because that bushing broke off of the pedal but the clutch itself bites pretty good. All gears are easy to get in/out of. My mechanic friend who drove it said it was fine
