I got black suede from a fabric store and some 3m adhesive spray... my advice is to get a somewhat flexible fabric to make it easier to mold into the panel's shape...

I did the glove box in black vinyl along with door speaker cover plates in black vinyl. It's cheap, easy, and better looking (I'm referring to the interior LOL).

I did my best to re-upholster mine. I found some grey vinal that best matched the factory leather seats and glovebox. I would have left the black vinal underneath the leather inserts, but it was also pulled away from the door panel. (It gets hot down here in FL.) I just took my time and did the best I could. It looks ok to me. It's not professional work, but it's better than the factory cloth falling off. After about a year and a half, I only have a small bubble of air showing under the vinal. I need to redo this project again, but it's still bareable. It's not a show car....just my daily driver.
I spent $40.00 on cloth, glue, and a bit of batting to go around the outside edge (to clean up the joint). I also rewrapped the sunvisors in the same vinal. Good luck... |
