I want to get 17" SSR Competition wheels. My friend suggested I get 8" width for traction... he said it would be pushing it but it should work. Does anyone have 8" width wheels? Can it be made to work?

I'm afraid I'll buy em and they will be a bit too wide. Is there something I could do in that case that wouldn't make the car look gay?

Ok well tirerack's system told me to get the 17x8's with 215/45WR17 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. Keep in mind that my '90 fb is going to have to have new hubs to go 5 lug. Is that going to become a problem with the 8" width?

I got SSR GPO's on my 91 fb. 17x8 front and 17x9 rear. 215/40 front and 235/40 rear. It will fit a 245 out back with a rolled fender. I also want to change the front tires to 215/45 cause its too short a tire right now. Oh yeah and my offset is 37.
