boost

Something ive always wondered is if the spring in the wastegate controls the boost how does a boost controller overide it when you want to raise or lower the boost?

a wastegate regulates how much boost the turbo puts out, a boost controller regulates how much of it actually makes it to the TB.

but how does it override it? or are you saying when i would let off now more air would be let out of the bov if i were to have raised the boost? and what about lowering the boost less than the spring

no the boost controller lies to the wastegate by making it only see a lower boost than its supposed to allow then when it hits the desired boost level it lets the wastegate act like it is normally. and no u cant turn the boost down lower than the wastgate spring that you have in
