I'm new to the forum so I checked first but I couldn't find anything that sounded like the problem I was having.

Car was driving fine earlier today. When I was leaving the shop the car started idling funny, like it wasn't running on all cylinders. But we checked the coil packs and spark plugs and did the wiggle test and looked for vacuum leaks and to no avail. And listened to the fuel pump to make sure it was sending fuel cause we thought the engine wasn't getting fuel or not enough and checked the relays for the pump itself.
Also a funny weazing sound from the intake so it could be the MAF but I just don't think so but I'll check tomorrow as it was too late and lack of light.
Any experienced opinions will help thanks.

sounds like a vacuum leak, or a leaky gasket on the header or something.

Yeah thats what we are thinking about the vacuum so that's something we'll check. But would a blown head gasket make the car sound like that or act like that.

Did you unplug the coil packs, one at a time as it was idling? If you unplug one and the idle doesn't change you have a dead plug/coil/etc. Other than, pull the codes to see what the ECU has to say for itself. I guess you probably have a broken sensor or bad wiring somewhere.

Also, what were you doing to the car at the shop before it started acting up? Were you installing parts or troubleshooting another issue?

yeah that was the first thing I checked......and when I tried to do the Mode II diagnostics the red LED wouldn't blink. Further tinkering turned out that the eprom chip came off the mother board. Technically it shouldn't have even started but I guess she just wanted to run. Now I can go to the Tokyo Auto Salon this weekend.
