M/T and A/T flywheel bolts have the same part#

I was putting together my bolts/nuts part# list to order, but when I was looking through Nissan FAST 2003 USDM, the part numbers for the flywheel bolts seem to be the same:

12310A (12315-42L11) is the bolt(s) I need right? If that's the case, then they're coming up the same part# in FAST. I've seen a lot of people say I need the M/T flywheel bolts, but do I really?

???

I was chitchatting with him on this as well, and i guess we're both stumped.

I've always thought the only difference was 12200J.

yes you need the mt flywheel bolts.. they are different sizes. iirc, the mt bolts are slightly longer. it could be the other way around.. but logically.. the mt flywheel is bigger than the at one. but they are DIFFERENT for sure. i've compared both of them.

you dont want to use the at ones that are too short and cant hold the flywheel on. you also dont want to have the flywheel spinning at 5000rpms come loose and spin out to cut your legs off.

sorry can't help with the part number. dont know it.

Jesus....talk about worst case. And yes to support other inputs, the MT bolts are longer. Just go to the dealer and order them, they will have an "MT" on the bolt head if they are MT bolts.....

Wow, thanks a lot guys! Looks like I'll just have to go to the dealership. The only things left for my 5sp conversion is a SS clutch line, flywheel and engine-to-tranny bolts, and my z32 clutch setup.

Thanks guys.

Not suggested. The A/T bolts are much shorter.

^^^ Just to reaffirm...it is NOT smart to use A/T bolts on an M/T flywheel.

WAY too short.

Brian, I actually used your site for the part numbers for the bolts. Do you happen to know the length/thread pitch of the flywheel bolts?

Thanks guys, I remembered the length issue AFTER I replied to the guy.
