you need to torque your wheels down better.

Are your threads ruined, or your rims properly balanced? If they are, then you need to learn how to properly torque your lugs in the right order....

I had them torqued at america tires.... they said they did them correct, but on the way back to my college up in napa valley, they became loose again and yeah the wheels are well balanced.

If you had them done at a shop and the wheels came off while driving, the shop should be responsible.

Replace any wheel studs lately, cause if you didn't pull them through properly they will let go of the spline and then your wheel studs/lug nuts will loosen and possibly break.

yeah don't trust tire places. ever.

i can't remember how many times i've gotten:

"we don't suggest different size tires for front wheel drive"
"those are larger than factory probe tires, sir"
"perhaps your CV joints are worn"

when they're looking directly at my car.

they don't know shit. get a wrench and crank in a star pattern
(the way you would draw a star on paper)

Sounds like you may have some loose studs.

Get your car in the air, wheels off the car, and see if you can detect any play with your fingers. If you have play, you need to fix that.
