SOHC to DOHC one question

Just picked up a used KA24DE for pretty cheap, thinking about swapping it out because of the availability of parts. Problem is, already have injectors, turbo manifold, and cam on my sohc motor, I was wondering if I can just build the bottom end of KA24DE , get it how I want it and put my sohc head on that block when I get done so I wont have very much downtime.

Do the heads interchange? I don't want to re-purchase all the same crap for the dohc. Is it the same block?

Thanks fellas

Not easily.
Not HARDLY practically.
Sell what you got, buy what you want.

No, see, Nissan has this assholish way of naming engines... They'll have the KA24E, then they'll have the KA24DEand one MIGHT think the difference is ONLY the valve train, based on nomenclature alone, but the shit is so much deeper that you're WAY too far in to back out before realizing you wasted your time.
Save face, sell what you got and buy what you need, no shit

sell what you got, you'd be better off with a ka24de head anyway.

Do what PHLIP suggested. Sell the SOHC parts and buy a DOHC head and replacement parts. Making the SOHC head fit a DOHC block isn't worth the time and effort.... and probably $$.

aight, yeah guess it's better to just ditch the sohc, I thought I was gonna be all cool and be the only person I knew with a KA24ET where I live but, it's just not worth it in the long run.

thanks for the help!
