hey guys i picked up a nice 240 just last week and i already bought a bunch of nice mods. i need some advice and direction though ...

i have 17x7.5 volk te37's and i want to get 225/45/17 but there is a great deal on 235/40/17 or 215/45/17 tires ... which size should i run ? can i fit 235 tireso n a 7.5 rim with no problems ?

also i got a LSD from a 91-94 silvia ... this will fit my 90 hatchback right ? what mods are necessary ?

also is a tuned ECU worth it ? or would a afc and avc take its place ?

also can u guys let me know of some nice sites with good prices to buy parts off of ? like an intercooler, BOV, fuel pump, s-afc, avc-r ... etc thanks.

if you're in the U.S. then Enjuku is the place, if your in canada then PDM is the place to go...

235 seems too wide but i have no real expereince with big tires, im gonna go with 205's prolly, the stock width is 195.

Go to the company webpage and look up the specs.  It should list the recomended wheel widths for that particular tire.  I have 225's on a set of 7" wide wheels and my guess is they'll fit fine and be closer the stook rolling diameter than the 225/45/17's.

For a properly set up car, I wouldnt go any wider than a 235 on a 7.5 inch wheel, as there would be just to much sidewall and flex. I have 225's on a 7.5" that work great, but 235 would probably be aight as well.

And AFC/AVC is not a replacement for any sort of ecu..  however, you could tune your fuel map, and possibly defeat the speed limiter with an AFC.  Depending on what you buy.

AFC's are there to Fine tune and make mild adjustments to the Fuel curve already mapped in your ECU.  These products are useless without an ecu.  They also take a lot more tuning time.  Although in comparison..  a JWT Ecu will run $600, whereas an S-AFC is like ~350?...

On the tires - The TE-37's are Schweet!@  you could run 235's on them, but with a 40 height, they will hurt your ride quality a bit.  The best bet is the 225's, but both will work.

For the LSD - I'm not totally sure if It'll work or not.  You may need to verify that it has the same bolt pattern for the output shafts, but other than that I don't think there should be any difference's.

with regards to 215 vs 235- if you asked me this question three months ago I would have said go w/ the 235s, but now, for one reason or another I've changed my views. Not only does a slightly stretched sidewall look good, but it means less flex as well, resulting in tighter cornering. (That may somewhat be offset by the narrower tire, but both are minimal...)

235s will fit fine, but may look 'bulged' slightly. 215s will also fit just fine, though it will look a little 'stretched'-- which IMHO looks better. =)
Another question to ask yourself is whether or not you REALLY need the extra 2cm of tire on each side... that's quite a hefty bit of rubber; unless you've got something pretty powerful under the hood, 235 is probably overkill... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'>

she runs a 235/40/17 on a 17x7, i think it looks nice, wouldnt know bout how it handles/rides. Im gonna run 225/45/17 on my 17x7, i think 240's have way too much fender gap so that should help a lil bit, but im also running these on teins, so the front strut is a lot slimmer. Just my 2 pennies
