Question ftw!? car will not start

well to start. im sure your thinking hey kid go look through all the threads before you post. well i have and i went through quite a few of them giving good possible problems i went through all the possible things that could cause the car to start. i even paid a 130$ for a new starter cause the old one wasnt gonna last much longer. the only thing i havent done is replace the positive and negative terminal wires. wich is the next thing im gonna do. but when the car stoped starting the power still worked. radio lights all that goods stuff. only recently did i have no power but i charged the batter and still no lights nothing.

when i first bought the car the ignition was a bit weird. like you have to slide the key back and forth until the ignition would turn over. there like a little play in it im guessing. after i had it a few moths it would start..when it wanted too. like i would turn the key and nothing would happen..so id sit there for like 10 min and try again. then it start.

any ideas?
thanks.
