Gas Light Won't Go ON

Ever since i've had my car, it has never gone below 1/4 tank. For the first time i didn't have cash with me to fill up so my tank is at the E line, a little below. And im wondering why my gas light won't go on, how can it be fixed?

i searched and couldn't find anything about it. thanks for the troubleshooting help.

MY gas light went on last night for the first time EVER and i was WAY below E, trying to get to a gas station, and then the little orange light came on. I was pretty amazed actually. So it probably works, but the gas gauges are just really effed up.

It was a completely legitimate question, i had never seen my gas light go on and neither have these other posters. And it is in the right place, a gas light going on is considered general discussion , that's why it's in chat.

so congratulations for your worthless post!

My light was working until I switched out my fuel pump. I was too lazy to complete the wiring.

The light is connected to the fuel pump? I didn't know that... That's probably why mine won't turn on.

the gas level is control by a lever type sensor and the gas light is controlled by another sensor on the fuel pump assembly. inspect the fuel pump assembly and replace if necessary.

Mine was replaced when I bought the car. What wire is it that controlls the light? I'll have to inspect mine soon.

so congratulations for your worthless post!
this belongs in the tech section. and youre a cock fag for not realizing it.

think about it: your at a bar bullshittin' with your buddies, and you say "my gas light is busted" I'd probably throw a bottle at your head for not talkin about ho's or sports. Now you go to a TECHnician and say the same thing i bet you dont have to dodge a bottle

edited to say how i really felt about this retarded post

I've had two s14s and have only seen the gas light come on 4 or 5 times, but it has to be really low to do it, and even then it's only happens sometimes. I don't think it's something that can be fixed, I looked for TSBs on it but couldn't find any.
