Ka24e Idle Problems

First off, I did a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

Well, my car is a 1990 240sx with a ka24e with about 30,000 on a rebuild. I had this same idling issue with my old ka, but not as bad. The engine doesn't do this all the time, but most of the time it idles high. Usually around 1400rpm, but it will occasionally jump up to 1900rpm. Sometimes, not all the time, if I have my heat on full blast, the car will idle around 1900rpm. If I turn the heat off completely, it will drop down to 1400rpm.

I really have no idea what the problem might be. Every once in a while it will just idle normal as well, right around 600rpm. I am stumped, any input would help. Thanks.

a vacuum leak is one possible reason why you idle so high. check your tps as well. also make sure that you have enough slack on your throttle cable so the throttle isnt stuck open. just a couple ideas...

Try the idle adjustmen screw which is right behind the iacv. And search "idle"
read the threads and there are tons of solutions

Thanks for the replies. I'll try searching a little harder and see what I can come up with.
