sr high idle?

hey guys... just picked up a coupe with s13 blacktop in it, and the previous owner says ther idle was fine, until he cleaned the maf and then it now jumps between 1200 and 1400rpms... any ideas? should i re-clean it? replace it? i tried manually adjusting the idle but it didnt do anything... i dont really mind but its wasting gas... lol... thanks for any help in advance!

What did he clean the MAF with? I hope he doesnt say Carb Cleaner.

yeah i was thinking i may have a vaccuum leak.. maybe he didnt install everything back correct when he cleaned it? i can check that i guess.. and i hope not carb cleaner either. lol.

if the car revs past 3k it's probably not a maf issue. easy way to test is to disconnect MAF while the car is running, if it's functional it should fall on it's face.

Check coolant levels, make sure there are no bubbles in your coolant system. if the ECU never gets a temp reading from the coolant temp sensor (separate from the one on your dash), the idle will never settle.
