Manifolds have nothing to do with it, the 95 intake manifold is the same as a 91-94 anyway, and the exhaust manifold would suit the chassis, not the head. If he has a 95-up downpipe in the car the earlier manifold is useless.
What you should have said is:
As long as you have the matching valve cover and upper timing cover you're fine, as those are the parts which are different.
