Tokico Blues and what springs for s13
well this is for my daily driver, but I would like something to stiffen the car up and drop it a little bit but not to low as I don't want the shocks going out on my in a few months. what is a good combination for improved handling and a decent but safe drop?
thanks timmay |

I heard that tokico go more quickly...
Koni Yellow are good struts as far as I know For the springs Eibach. You can't go wrong with thoses. I think you'd like the Pro-kit. |

What springs to go with tokico blues you ask? Stock. Since that's what they are made for.
People fail to realize that all the blues are almost oem replacements. The moments you put lowering springs on them, you shorten the live of the shock vastly. Buy another setup if you want performance.

Indeed... Tokico HP series are nothing but stock replacements. Slightly better valving but ment to be used with fatory springs. If you use shorter springs you'll blow the seals on the tokicos for sure.

I had Tokico Blues with Espelier springs and everyone complimented the ride and handling on my old Silvia front end coupe. I would say Espelier are some of the better springs out there to get spirited handling yet retain a reasonablely comfortable ride lowered.
Eibach Sportlines drop the car dramatically which means you need to use at least AGX's or Koni's with them. The other eibachs don't lower the car much at at all. Now Eibach ERS springs on the other hand are dope, though they are coilover springs ![]() RSR's are crazy stiff and slam the car. I personally don't think much of them. I would bet Espelier with AGX's or Koni's would be really nice as well. Don't get Tein or Megan. Tein are crap as are Megans. H&R's are a good brand but mainly european car oriented, though they do make them for our cars. In a nutshell for a strut spring combo if I was going to do one It would probably be the Espelier. You can get KGMM as well if you have hook ups and they are pretty dope but stiff.

for springs nothing that will drop it more than 1.5 inches Espelier springs are awsome. i had sportlines on kyb gr2s and the rears were gone in a year now i am getting coilovers. sportlines gave it a nice drop but hindered the strut's life.

i ran the tokiko shocks/struts with tokiko springs back in the day. i believe they stopped selling springs, which is quite a shame. it was a really good setup. i drove on them for years until they blew, and even then i couldnt tell.. shit still worked well.

the tanabe gf210 is a pretty badass spring. one of the stiffest you can get with a
pretty decent stance for the cash. my buddy ran tokico blue/tanabe gf210 for a whole year, events and DD. i bought them for my DD a while ago. comfy ride. |

irocked RSR ti series and tokiko blues on my last car. handeled allot flatter and less roll than stock, and had a good ride to them. allot better than the KYB AGX and sportlines or some shit that my new car came with.
