S14 Trans into S13 chassis

Anyone on here have this specific combo:

S14 manual trans into S13 chassis? If so does your speedometer read correctly if so which VSS did you use.

I currently have this setup but it seems after trying to S13 VSS my readings ares still doubled or so.

Im wondering if I need to use a S14 sensor? hmmmm

What I do know from searching is that it appear that a S13 VSS into a S14 chassis with SR20DET swaps seems to double the speed as well.

I did this swap recently. 96 s14 tranny into s13 w/KA24DE. You need to use VSS from s13 DOHC manual tranny. As far as I know, SOHC VSS and DOHC VSS have 2 different part numbers for the gears.

Anyway, mine reads perfect.

ok, BTW mine tranny is from a 98 KA24DE...

Hmm this is kicking my ass my speed reads to fast and I am using a S13 VSS from a DOHC noted by the 20 tooth count.

Some SOHC came with a sport package, larger wheels equal different rolling diameter and came with 20 tooth count VSS the rest came with 21 tooth count VSS for SOHC.

VSS has to match the cluster. S13 cluster, S13 VSS. The transmissions are the same.

So in knowing that if you're speed is indeed doubled there's something strangely wrong. I've only heard of speeds being off using the wrong sensor for the chassis.

That's cool. My car was auto originally. Yeah, when I did the swap. I removed battery cable and also swapped the ECU too.

If you search, you will see threads people saying speed shows double after the swap. Now, all they need to do is just unplug and plug back in. That's cool!!!

You know what you are talking about. Yeah, that's what I found too from the dealership.

One more thing, I have both digital and regular clusters. I tried both and both of them work perfectly. Currently, I have digital cluster on my car.
