not really.... a pint of package 3 stage paint would be around 150-200(base/mid coat). Probably about 14oz of clear is around 20.00 in materials with the hardedener and the rest is just scuffing up the parts and painting which would only take about 2.5 hrs in labor with painting. Id say its fair. He probably made around 180.00 in labor... i use a heated down draft booth so i can do parts in the same day andh have it back the next day.
this are still good prices. I bet for your whole car he would want around 2-4k.

oh really farmer and aaa insured hmm so i bet his labor rate is around 22-26hr for paint/65-80hr for labor. Typical labor rates for collision shops that have their balls tied up by insurance companys. Not meaning to insult your buddy. I would like my own shop. Not collision, more of a hobby/restoration shop. Better fun atmosphere, better ppl, better pride in my work.
