Ok, I am finally going to do some work to my car over Christmas break. I have a few questions first.
1. What is the best intake? I hear a lot obout the Injen intake but the Hotshot one "claims" to add 8 HP. Is that true? Price really is not a concern here, performance comes first. 2. Which is better, the ASP pully or the UR one? 3. I am thinking about the Apexi GT Spec muffler. This is a cat-back system, correct? Is this a wise choice for a N/A setup? Are there any others that make more power? 4. I have a heard a lot about the Greddy and Hotshot headers both good and bad. I am leaning towards the hotshot headers because they eliminate the cat and I haven't heard of them breaking and needing to be welded. 5. My clutch is going to be dead soon, so I need a new one. What do you guys recomend? I am totally clueless when it comes to this. I will not be putting a turbo on and it should not need to handle more than 200hp. 6. Is the JWT Ecu worth the money? $600 seems to be quite a lot. 7. Is it best to lighten my existing fly-wheel or buy one of those ultra-light racing ones? Thanks a lot and anything else you guys might think I should put on there let me know. |

1. everyone seems to love the engine...
2. doesnt greddy make a pully that allows you to keep AC? i think UR doesnt make one that does? 3. it'd sound like ass, its the worst possible choice for N/A, and you might even lose power after freeing up intake and headers, even with silencer 4. arent greddy headers cheaper? i hear they're ALOT easier to install, and you can always just get a test pipe, and if you have to for some reason, you can put the cat back on 5. get an ACT, will cost you under $300 at enjuku. i've heard alot of bad things about clutchmasters on other forums 6. i dunno about the JWT ecu im not the one to talk about that 7. DO NOT LIGHTEN YOUR FLYWHEEL. it WILL break under the torque strain if you do not get it properly heat treated. you can buy a better one to begin with for what it costs to get it done properly. get a JUN or toda 11 or 12lb model. i know optionsauto.com and modacar.com (yeah i know modacar is rice++ but they even carry the toda sr21det stroker kit...WIERD) both carry them at the same price enjuku sells the JUN for. hope i've helped you some |

well intake is what i always recomended ppl.. what i use to sell perf parts..
injen is a good brand but its a bit pricey. im going the custom route .. im having 2.5' exhuast piping custom bent so it would turn into a cold air intake.. pretty cheap. and u can use a generic filter and just buy a bypass valve if you realy think u need it.. same with exhaust. just having a shop do custom madrel bends.. soo much cheaper than buying name brand crap |

the injen is a pretty good looking internal piece though, so you're mostly paying for the looks of the item, and it seems to have good placement, if you decide to also get one of those air intake headlight covers (which are usually pretty ugly IMO). I saw a REALLY cool one on 240sx.org where the guy just put a little gasket sort of thing down underneith his front left headlight...take a look at it im sure you'll fin dit

You might want to wait a little for the hotshot header. They're coming out with a redesign. Greddy headers do have that weld problem, but they are lighter than hotshot.
Injen would be the best intake. Apexi N1 is suppose to give the most hp for the S14. Wait for the JWT stageII cams to get dynoed. Hopefully by the end of this year. JWT ECU is THE ecu to get for the S14. But I would get their cams before I get the ECU. I would get a strut tower bar rather than getting a pully. But I heard good things about ASP pulley. People say it's as good as the UR but for a cheaper price. Although if you really want that extra little hp, I would just take off the fan and remove the spare tire. And to balance out the car and for weight reduction, I would get a CF hood. |

Thank-you very very much Chokudori. Your info was very very helpful. About the N1 is the dual or the single better? I like the look of the dual but I want performance to be my first concern. Thanks again
