SR noise ...maybe exhaust?

Hey. I'm new here. I have 2 Sileighties w SR20DETs. One runs GREAT! The other one runs fine but occassionally I have a ticking sound that sounds a bit like valve lifters or something of that nature. I've had it looked at and nobody seems to know what the deal is. I recently heard someone say that it might be an exhaust issue. I am running a staight pipe w/out a CAT. Any thoughts?

Had those checked. It is a problem that comes and goes. I was told that if those were issues it wouldn't go.
